Two things to avoid this holiday season!

Rawhides- they’ll even come in green and red, candy cane shaped and more looking like fun and festive stocking stuffer but they are a big NO. Not only are they typically bleached and full of chemicals, they are a choking hazard for your pup since rawhide is not digestible and actually swells up in the stomach.

Number two on my no no list- cooked bones. Though there are lots of holiday foods that can be shared with your fur babies (unseasoned veggies, pumpkin puree, bits of meat) cooked bones are a hazard. They splinter and can do a great deal of damage internally. Interestingly raw bones can be an excellent treat and a great option for keeping pups occupied and calm- but cooked bones are a big no go.
